Can't Rain on my Parade! Well...

Rain? Snow? FREEEEEZING cold temps? Nope. Not gonna happen, not gonna ruin YOUR parade! The bitter temps here in Colorado have us thinking about what to do when inclement weather hits. First things first...don't let the silly old weather put a damper on YOUR day! The only thing you can do about it is embrace it. Rain? eh, it's good luck right? *Snow* SUCH pretty pics! Cold temps? Snuggle time! and all the more reason to dance up a sweat. Before we show you a fab snowy wedding (in my lovely Colorado :)) featured today on Style Me Pretty, here's our best advice:

* Know the season and be prepared. Just as you should provide your guests cold drinks on a hot summer day, provide hot drinks on a cold winter or rainy day. (Hot Cocoa bar? YES PLEASE!!). It's also a good idea to have a basket full of throws or wraps, guests will appreciate the thoughtfulness and what a great favor! Get creative.

* Give your guests an idea of what to pack. Rain, snow or anything in between, if guests know how best to dress for the weather, they will be much warmer, drier and much happier. This is a great addition to your wedding website!

* Dual purpose necessities: If you know that there's a possibility of rain, have fun umbrellas on hand that go with your theme/decor. Not only will they be practical when rain does fall, but props like that for photos? Love. Not to mention all the fun you could have with rain boots!

* Have a backup plan in case the weather outside is to treacherous to be out in it. Does your chosen venue have both indoor and outdoor availability? is there a little church, restaurant, or art gallery nearby? A tent wont always do the trick. Know your options.

* Mentally prepare yourself in advance of your chosen date. Think of the different weather possibilities and imagine how you will react and handle them. That way, when you see it raining or snowing outside, or you feel the bitterness in the air, you can think before you react. You'll be prepared. Take a moment, remember that it's your once in a lifetime big day, and appreciate the weather for what it is. It just adds to the memory of the day and nothing is going to take away from your special moment. I promise you. Rather than letting it upset you, find the beauty in it and realize that you still have a beautiful dress, your friends and family and a wonderful man waiting for you at the end of the isle.

Now, check out this wedding from Brinton Studios. We are so in love.
